Wowsers!! what a busy weekend. With Nana and Papa in town, it was time for lots and lots of activities. It started off with an Easter Egg hunt at the Thriftway, a great annual event in West Seattle. Then we quickly traveled to SODO for Sam's soccer practice. During Sam's nap, Dad and Papa did yard work while Mom and Nana hit the stores to prepare for our friends who were coming to Easter dinner. After Sam awoke and played for a bit, it was time to dye white AA Large eggs.
Sunday morning began later than expected; Sam slept in which strangely allowed everyone else to get dressed for Mass. Since he didn't get his usual morning play time, he was a bit unwieldy during church. He must've been excited to get home and search for eggs and find what the Easter Bunny left him, because that was his list of priorities when we got back home.
Mom did a fabulous job preparing a delicious Easter dinner that ended up having very few leftovers. It was great to spend time with our family and friends, including the four young ones who made it over.
One of Sam's first eggs at the Thriftway would later reveal a big prize...a game of Chutes and Ladders!
The excitement continued in the meat department.
Typical Sam, excited from afar, scared up close.
Time for soccer practice! Sam took off running.
In his second week of standing up cones, Sam is getting really good.
Time to score a goal!
...tuckered out.
Sam's turn to color eggs.
Mom lets Sammy use the copper hook thingy.
Onto the green dye.
Nana's idea. Easter '08 is the photo on the right, '09 is on the left. Note Sam has the same reaction in both photos.
Sunday morning: Sam's first gift is a digger backpack full of goodies.
On to Church!
There is no way that Sam is tired.
Easter dinner time! Sam and Evan take a drink.
