The Reds Came to Town (17 weeks!!)

Sam's four month check-up was last week, and he's in great health! 16 pounds, 2 ounces and 26.25" long. And he loves to laugh, talk, play...the list goes on. On Sunday we went to the Reds/Mariners game, which was Dad's highlight for the week. Junior hit two bombs, and Sam was facing the field both times, so we think he watched them go out.

There won't be a post next week, sorry, but we'll be on a week hiatus...we'll get some more up the 2nd week in July. Happy 4th!

Gotta love the overalls...and Sam loves the feet.

Sam also loves a new game which involves Daddy jumping on the bed and laughing with him.

I tawt I taw a putty tat.

Bath time never takes a back seat in enjoyment.

"Yeah, the water is warm, and I am a happy kid."

Bath's all done now.

Sam and Mom are ready for some baseball!

Two pitches later, Griffey went yard.

Dad and Sam love their Reds gear.

We all had a great time (despite the Mariners' win).

Alison and her boyfriend Chris spend a fun day with Sam.

Up to 16 weeks, and +16 pounds!

It's after 10pm right now and the boy is still making noises from his crib...he's two hours behind schedule right now, and Mom and Dad haven't experienced this before. But anyway, last week a lot of fun things happened...Sam is now grabbing his toes, and talking almost all the time. He's been in a great mood for most of the past week. For Father's Day, Sam got Dad three pictures of him wearing his "My dad rocks" shirt (thanks, C) and they're pretty neat. You can see a couple of the pics that were in the frame below.
Uncle Mark visited this past weekend, which was great. Sam really enjoyed spending time with him and helping with his cribbage hands. This weekend the whole fam will go to Safeco to watch the Reds take on the Mariners. Sam and Dad will be wearing Red and Mom is gonna wear blue.
It's cool being flexy.

The cuteness never ends.

Can you spot Sam? Here he is with the rest of the kids in the PEPS group. Hint, he's wearing the outfit in the picture below.

Rawwwwwwr. How do I look, J Matt?

Kick it!

How true it is...

Mom and Dad enjoy a romantic dinner...Sam had a babysitter.

Uncle Mark greets Sam with a big grin.

The fact that Sam is labeled a 'vegetarian' confuses the kid.

Tummy Time has been good for Sam, he's really getting better at it.

A "baby's eye" view of Tummy Time.

Sam and Dad on Father's Day.

"Oh yeah. We're having so much fun!! Everyone's got to have one of these play mats."

Sam's first ball isn't white with red laces, but Dad can deal.

Sam gets in on an early round of "attack daddy night."

Two New Vids!

You'll have to go to YouTube for these two vids which show the young man at his very best.

Turn on the sound to hear Sam, and to a lesser extent, his parents.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVFvV73njkY - Recorded 6/5/07 the day that Sam decided he liked to stand more than sit. He was a bit more wobbly last week than he is now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQQ4GhEkLfo - Recorded 6/9/07 after Mom and Dad found out that Sam likes "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim.

Week Fourteen, out being seen

Yo yo yo, wassup y'all. Sammy been kickin' it this week, scho nuf. I gots ta tell ya, despite havin' a cold, this week's been ragin'!
The week started great (on his 13-week birthday) with a Memorial Day party where Sam got to meet his friend Jack (18 days younger than Sam) and see Hugo again, who showed up in a pic or two a couple weeks ago. Sadly, we didn't get any photos of the party (if you've got some, please email them to Sam's dad).
Sam got to meet his GREAT Grandma Sophie as she spent five+ days with us, and we had a great time. The little man has decided that sitting just isn't cool anymore and now he really only wants to stand up. All he needs is some outside support, his legs are strong. Aside from a visit from the Great Grandma, the other big highlight from the week was going to his first Major League Baseball game, which was on Sunday. We think Sam is going to like baseball.
Without further ado, Sam will take you through...the week that was.
My name is Sam and I'm here to say
That my seat is cool for work or play

A dozer on the shirt, is really rad,

And check out the hat, "I dig my dad."

I spend time in my swing, whenever I can

Don't have much hair, just like an old man!

Hey Gramma Sophie I got somethin' to tell you
I played with a rattle, now my hand I will chew.

My auntie Christina got me this cool seat

The shirt says "Monkey Business," and I say that's neat.

Lunch with Athena, Gramma and Momma

A really sunny day, and lots of fun-na

The latest trick I do, is standing on my own,

And if I have my way, a vid will be shown.

Don't we look great, sittin' together,

G-ma Sophie and me, smilin' forever.

At Safeco Field, for my first baseball game

I got a pic with Dad, even though he looks lame.

Luckily for us we had seats in the shade

While those guys with bats and balls played

(true dat!)

Despite all the excitement, they caught me nappin',

Only to awake when I heard lots of clappin'.

The M's won the game, eleven to six.

With looks like these, I'm gonna get me some chix.

Thanks for singin' this song with me,

We'll get some more pix posted in the next week.
