Another video of the little guy.

This time around we've got Sam learning. He's in his bouncy chair and trying to figure out what his hands do. Sweeeet.

He keeps growing...and growing...and...

Big week for the SamMan...he's now fully converted to sleeping in his crib all by himself. The first night there were some shrieks when he woke up, but since that night he's slept well, far away from his mommy and daddy. :( But he's still waking them up at least once a night to let them know all is well. Last Thursday was his 2 month check-up, and it was a rough one on the whole fam. Sam got three shots and didn't appreciate the thought. He didn't want to sleep much that night but made up for it a day-and-a-half later, when he slept through most of Saturday. The doc told us that Sam is in very good health, and it shows. The little guy is up to 11 lbs 13 oz and 23". It's hard to remember how light he used to be.

Ya got me.

Happy no matter where he goes.

Sam's new favorite toy...a mobile on his car seat.

Again looking at the mobile. Entranced he is.

He can NOT get enough of that mobile.

Excited for bath time.

He's a plumpers.

Mom and Sam at their Monday group.

Both Dawn and Sam are thinking, "You lookin' at me?"

Two Months with Samuel Nelson

Two months already. Wow, it's hard to believe how far he's come, and how little sleep Mom's gotten. He continues to smile and really enjoys when Mom and Dad act silly. Believe it or not, he's already up to 11 pounds, an eatin' machine. You'll see the results of that below.

Formatting is a bit screwy this week, hopefully it'll get better next time.

Showing love for Dad.

Sam slept on Dad for over 2 hours and would not sleep anywhere else during that time (Dad tried, but not tooooooo hard).

Sam's reading!

"Ohhh Dad, you're so funny! Why doesn't Mom think you're funny?"

The name says it all. Dad throws in some 'whup whups' for good measure.

The Kid abides. Let's hope this isn't a future mug shot.

Uncle Matty maximizes his visit by holding Sam.

Woohooo, I see Mommy!

...and Mommy sees me! YAY!

"Get in my belly!" or "My parents are boring."

Seven Weeks of Samuel Nelson

What an incredible week! Sam's started smiling when awake, and is talking, more like babbling, his way through the day. Big news, he's up over 10 pounds...quite a growth spurt he's been going through lately (to say the least). If he doesn't slow down, he'll be up near 40 pounds at his first birthday, which I've heard may or may not be such a great idea.
With any luck, we'll upload a video of the little guy in action later this week.

I'll give you one guess who picked this shirt out.

"Who invited the paparazzi? Do I have to go 'Sean Penn' on you guys?"

On a visit to Dad's jobsite, Sam checks out his office...and that reflective vest!

He has such great faces.

Grandpa Alan gets to meet Sam, and gets to feed him. How awesome is that!?

Grandpa hung the letters, Grandma gets the first photo with the boy.

And the second photo too...at least he's looking this time.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
Happy boy!

Three generations.

Swinging and having a good ole time.

In his Hammer pants, he looks super-cute.

Who is six weeks old? Sam is. That's who.

Sam is growing by leaps and bounds! After chillin' in the 7lb range for a while, he's now over 9lb and 22". Gone are the wrinkly legs. Gone I tell you! He's spent some quality time with Grandpa Craig and Grandma Sue the past six days, and will be bummed when they go. With them here, Mom & Dad can go to the bullpen, depending on whether they need a set-up man (Grandpa tires him out by playing) or a closer (Grandma gets him to sleep).

Only a few days until Grandpa Alan and Grandma Jan show up. Woohoo!

Sam sends his best wishes to all of you, and hopes that you had a delightful Easter. He also requests that extra Peeps be sent to your local charity.

Cute, and rarin' to go!

Yet another great pic. So awesome.

The elusive "smile" has finally been recorded, but he's resting, so it really doesn't count.

Does this remind anyone else of David Byrne? Check the Easter outfit in all its glory!

Easter outfit without the jacket.

Grandma Sue gets in on the feeding at Green Lake.

Grandpa Craig plays with the little man.

Sam lets the Duckie know that he's there for him.

Sam & Mom on Easter Sunday.

The family gathers for a photo.

"Hey Tony, did that guy look at me wrong?"

"Yeah, 'e did."

"Get 'em, Tone. Get 'em good."

Mom is pretty and Sam is very handsome.

Photos from Week 5

So the fifth week of life has Sam sleeping better, but also spending more quality awake-time with Mom and Dad. Aunt Christina's visit this week was great and helped Mom out a lot! Lots more visits coming soon. And next week will hopefully include some photos of the little man in his sweet Easter outfit. Stay tuned!

Sam makes his first appearance on cable TV!

Aunt Christina's jammies are right, it's all about love.

what you lookin' at?

Sam's with Aunt Christina again, resting up.

Future philosopher, or perhaps theoretical physicist? Sam will let us know.

Aunt Christina maximizes her visit, feeding Sam on a trip to Alki Beach.

Mom and Sam enjoying the sun on Alki Beach.

Sam's in his monkey suit, clearly monkeying around.

Another of the great photos of Sam: great color, contrast, and a great pose.

Just out of the tub, how awesome is this?
