Something we've figured out

First the wisdom: when you have someone take photos of your kid, and he's a good photographer with a good camera, you're going to have a LOT of photos to choose from, and it's going to take a while to go through them. Now the update: Sam ran his first 5k this weekend and did pretty well. He finished in 42 minutes which is pretty good for an 8-month old. Add to that his roll-over and sit up combo, and you're looking at a triple threat!

First pic at the pumpkin patch.

And with grandma, enjoying a great autumn day.

He's quite interested in the stem.

When the ground is wet, a wheelbarrow will keep your footsies clean.

He just loved being there.

Music class fun...the formatting is screwy right now, but the pictures speak for themselves.

Awwww. Too cute.

Dad's making Sam laugh.

Well anyway, the fish was -huge- and wow, did it put up a fight!

Too dapper.

Another photo that you need to click on to get the full effect of.

Just a teaser...more Halloween photos to follow...

Talk about your development

After a week of scoochin' around, Sam's movin' up...well, movin' faster, at the very least. Some would say he's crawling. Check out the latest vid right here. It was overnight that he really got into gear. It's officially time to start child-proofing the house, something we were hoping to avoid until the end of the year. It's going to be a busy weekend.

In addition to that, he's standing up - on his own - in his crib. When we hear him after he wakes up, imagine our suprise to find him smiling over the top rail.

Sam's friend Max was over for some play time.

And it appears that Sam likes to play with ears, similar to Snu.

Yup, standing up in his crib...and loving it.

Hitting the swings on a sunny (70 degree) October day. Of course, the next day it poured and was in the 50's.

But that swinging was a lot of fun.

Just after the video, he was happy to be havin' a blast.

The carpet just got done in the basement, and Sam is the first to check the softness.

Standing up in his crib again. He was supposed to be asleep

A Trip to Portland

Not too many photos this week. With Mom and Dad working, there isn't much time to take photos of the li'l guy except for weekends. And even then it's not always easy. Take this weekend for instance...we went to Portland to visit Heather and the camera didn't come out too much...but when it did...

with Mom at Fenoile, or something. It was a French place. The perfect spot for Sam's first taste of a french fry. Duh, he likes 'em.

At breakfast on Sunday morning with Heather. Talk about happy.

Totally happy. He was happy to see Heather again.

And he spent time eating her remote control.

...and turned the coffee table into a drum set.

He's got a maraca now, so he can practice his percussion when not at music class.

Happy Dude

First off, apologies for no text on that last entry. In the past few weeks, things have become even busier, allowing for less time to post. And yes, most of the busy time is spent hanging out with the smilin' kid in these pictures. With all that he can do, we've got to keep an eye trained on him at all times! He's able to scoot across smooth surfaces now, and really wants to crawl...when he's not trying to walk. Lately he's been trying to pull himself up on the Einstein but he has yet to succeed. He's now clapping on a regular basis, we'll have to get video of that up soon.

He's growing out of his carseat! Tooooo biggggggggggg

Sam and Mom walked to fight Diabetes...of course, Sam was stylin'.

Mom got Sam his first four-wheeled toy...he hasn't noticed the Sesame Street theme yet, he's too busy gripping that steering wheel and trying to run like Fred Flintstone to a lodge meeting.

OK, not related directly to the li'l guy, we thought we'd show you the new door that just went in. It's pretty much the same on the outside...and now we have a storm door!

He loves those rings.

...so much so that he doesn't mind one on his head.

just hanging out on the sofa.

This is his first big smile with gums showing, he sure loves his nanny!

and he can't get any cuter than this!
